Commercial Insulation
Delivering Comfort, Efficiency, & Value

We deliver tailored commercial insulation solutions designed to improve energy efficiency, indoor comfort, and long-term cost savings for a wide range of commercial and industrial properties. Whether it’s an office building, warehouse, retail space, or large-scale facility, our team ensures every project is handled with precision and attention to detail.

Our approach begins with a thorough assessment of the building’s structure, usage, and insulation requirements. Based on this, we recommend and install high-quality insulation materials that effectively regulate indoor temperatures, reduce heat loss, and enhance overall building performance. This not only creates a more comfortable environment for employees and customers but also significantly lowers energy consumption and operational costs.

We work closely with business owners, contractors, and property managers to ensure all installations meet New Zealand building codes and industry standards. From new commercial developments to upgrading existing structures, our solutions are reliable, efficient, and built to deliver long-term value.

New Builds & Retrofit Insulation
Complete Insulation for Every Stage

At Imperial Insulation, we provide tailored insulation solutions for both new builds and existing homes across New Zealand, helping properties achieve higher levels of comfort, performance, and energy efficiency. While most new homes are built to meet minimum insulation requirements, these standards often fall short of delivering optimal thermal performance. Building a new home is your one opportunity to get it right—upgrading insulation in key areas like ceilings and walls can make a significant difference with only a modest increase in cost.

For both new and existing properties, effective insulation plays a vital role in reducing energy consumption and maintaining a consistent indoor temperature year-round. A large portion of heat loss occurs through ceilings, walls, and floors, which can lead to higher energy bills and uncomfortable living conditions. By using high-quality materials and proven installation methods, we help create a stronger thermal envelope that keeps homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Retrofit insulation is an efficient and cost-effective way to upgrade older homes, especially during renovations. Our team ensures the right products and solutions are selected to suit your property, budget, and compliance needs. Whether you are building new or improving an existing space, Imperial Insulation delivers reliable solutions designed to enhance comfort, support healthier living environments, and provide long-term energy savings.

Healthy Homes Assessments
Simple Checks, Healthier Homes, Full Compliance.

The Healthy Homes Standards were introduced in 2019 to ensure rental properties in New Zealand are warm, dry, and safe to live in. These standards focus on key areas like insulation, heating, ventilation, moisture control, and draught stopping.

At Imperial Insulation, we make compliance easy. Our Healthy Homes Assessments clearly show what your property needs to meet the standards—no confusion, no guesswork.

We provide a straightforward report with practical recommendations, so you know exactly what needs to be done and how to do it.

Why It Matters

Improve tenant comfort and wellbeing
Reduce moisture, mould, and cold conditions
Increase the value and performance of your property

What We Check

Insulation

We check ceiling and underfloor insulation to ensure it meets current requirements for coverage and thickness.

Heating

We confirm that your main living area has a fixed heating source that can properly heat the space.

Ventilation

We assess extractor fans in kitchens and bathrooms, plus airflow throughout the home.

Moisture & Drainage

We check for proper drainage and moisture barriers to prevent dampness under the house.

Draught Stopping

We identify gaps and draughts that may cause heat loss and recommend simple fixes.

Meth Screening
Protect Your Property, Ensure It’s Safe to Live In.

Meth (P) contamination can occur in any property—even without visible signs. It can result from past drug use or manufacturing and may leave harmful residue on walls, ceilings, and surfaces.

At Imperial Insulation, we provide professional Meth Screening Services to detect contamination early and give you peace of mind. Our process is simple, reliable, and follows industry best practices used across New Zealand.

Why Meth Screening Is Important

Protect tenants, families, and occupants from potential health risks
Identify contamination before buying or renting a property
Avoid costly clean-up surprises
Ensure your property is safe and habitable

Meth residue can remain in a property long after use, even if there are no visible signs.

What Is Meth Screening?

Meth screening is the first step in detecting contamination. It involves taking surface samples from key areas of the property to check for the presence of methamphetamine.

A fast and cost-effective way to identify potential issues
Helps determine if further detailed testing is required
Can be carried out in any property, at any time

Our Testing Process

1)
On-Site Sampling

We collect samples from high-use areas such as:

  • Living rooms
  • Bedrooms
  • Kitchens
  • Bathrooms
2)
Laboratory Analysis

Samples are tested to detect meth residue and determine if contamination is present.

3)
Clear Reporting

You receive an easy-to-understand report outlining:

  • Whether meth is detected
  • The level of contamination (if any)
  • Recommended next steps

Understanding the Results

Screening identifies if meth is present and whether further testing is needed
If levels exceed acceptable limits, detailed testing and remediation may be required
Properties above set thresholds may require cleaning before being safely occupied

When Should You Get Meth Screening?

Before buying a property
Between tenancies
If there is suspicion of drug use
As part of routine property checks

Failing to test can lead to serious financial and legal risks, especially for landlords and property owners.

What We Do (And Don’t Do)

We Do:
  • Professional meth screening and testing
  • Clear reporting and guidance
  • Follow industry-standard testing methods
We Don’t Do:
  • Meth decontamination or cleaning project management.(We can guide you on next steps if contamination is found.)

Methamphetamine Testing & Regulations

Understanding the 2026 Meth Regulations

Staying compliant with the latest New Zealand legislation is essential for property owners, managers, and tenants. As of April 2026, new standards define how meth contamination is managed.

Contamination Thresholds
  • The Decontamination Limit (15µg/100cm²): A property is considered contaminated if any area exceeds 15µg/100cm². Under the new regulations, assessment is done on a room-by-room basis. Only the specific areas testing above this limit require professional decontamination.
  • The Habitability Limit (30µg/100cm²): If any part of a property tests above 30µg/100cm², it is legally classified as uninhabitable. This is the maximum level permitted by legislation for safe occupation.

Our Meth Testing Services

We provide a range of testing options tailored to your specific requirements, from initial peace-of-mind checks to comprehensive legal documentation.

1)
Field Composite Screening Assessment

A cost-effective entry-level test used to determine if methamphetamine residues are present. This sampling technique provides a combined (composite) result for the property.

  • Best for: Initial checks and general peace of mind.
2)
Discrete Area-by-Area Lab Composite Assessment

This technique uses individual samples from different rooms that are combined in the lab for a single result. If a positive result is found, these samples can be analyzed individually to find the source.

  • Best for: Accurate screening with the flexibility to investigate further if needed.
3)
Discrete Area-by-Area Assessment

Each sample is analyzed individually by the laboratory. This provides a clear "map" of the property, identifying exactly which rooms are contaminated and which are safe.

  • Best for: Specificity and identifying precise cleaning requirements.
4)
Detailed Assessment

A high-level investigation designed to assess the full magnitude of contamination. This includes discrete sampling and a comprehensive technical report.

  • Best for: Insurance claims, Tenancy Tribunal cases, and providing contractors with a professional remediation plan.
